Random & alphabetized grid

In template-portfolio.php or template-gallery.php, you should find this block of code (more or less - it depends on the theme or theme version):

$args = array(
  'posts_per_page' => ( get_option( 'krown_folio_pagination', 'folio-pagination-off' ) == 'folio-pagination-on' ? get_option( 'krown_folio_items', '24' ) : -1 ),
  'offset'=> 0,
  'portfolio_category' => $portfolio_filter,
  'post_type' => 'portfolio',
  'paged' => $paged  );

Replace it with this for randomized portfolio grid:

$args = array(
   'posts_per_page' => ( get_option( 'krown_folio_pagination', 'folio-pagination-off' ) == 'folio-pagination-on' ? get_option( 'krown_folio_items', '24' ) : -1 ),
   'offset'=> 0,
   'portfolio_category' => $portfolio_filter,
   'post_type' => 'portfolio',
   'paged' => $paged,
   'orderby'=> 'rand' );

Or this for alphabetized grid:

$args = array( 'posts_per_page' => -1,
   'offset'=> 0,
   'order' => 'ASC',
   'orderby' => 'name',
   'post_ype' => 'portfolio');

See the added property? That's what it makes the grid to be random/alphabetic. No matter how the query looks like, you can use this piece of code to tweak it as you wish. Read more in the WordPress codex about the WP_Query:  http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Que...

Also, even if it works by simply replacing, you should never change theme core files (you'll have to redo these on each theme update). Instead,  use a child theme! Inside the working child theme you'll simply have to copy an instance of the modified file and leave it there.
